McSweeney's Quarterly
Timothy McSweeney's Quarterly Concern is a literary
journal edited by Dave Eggers. The first issue featured only
works rejected by other magazines, but thereafter this unique
journal began to include pieces written by many notable
writers, including: Joyce Carol Oates, Michael Chabon,
Nick Hornby, Stephen King, and Ann Beattie.

Stone Canoe:
A Journal of Arts and Ideas
from Upstate New York
Stone Canoe showcases the work of a diverse mix of
emerging and well established artists and writers with
connections to Upstate New York. In doing so, the journal
supports Syracuse University's ongoing efforts to nurture
creative community partnerships and seeks to promote a
greater awareness of the cultural and intellectual richness
that characterizes life in the region.

Tin House
Tin House is a beautifully designed quarterly periodical
featuring the best writers of our time alongside a new
generation of talent. The issues contain unique departments
such as "Lost and Found," in which writers review overlooked
books, and "Blithe Spirits" and "Readable Feast," which present
tales and recipes for drinks and food in a literary way.

Paris Review
The Paris Review has introduced the important writers of the day. Adrienne Rich was first published in its pages, as were Philip Roth, V. S. Naipaul, Mona Simpson, Edward P. Jones, and Rick Moody. In addition to the focus on original creative work, the Paris Review is known for letting the authors talk about their work themselves.

Healing Muse
The Healing Muse is the annual journal of literary and visual art published by SUNY Upstate Medical University's Center for Bioethics & Humanities. The journal publishes fiction, poetry, narratives, essays, memoirs and visual art, particularly but not exclusively focusing on themes of medicine, illness, disability and healing.
